reflexive practicePsychotherapists are required to maintain an on-going personal development process as part of their basis for continued professional registration. This takes various forms, including Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and clinical supervision. An additional requirement in some schools of psychotherapy is an acceptable form of 'reflexive' practice. This can be 'own-therapy' for the psychotherapist, or, it can be a process of dialectical development between peers. At Renaissance, the dialectical approach is preferred, and this may be within the Academy itself, or through another medium such as an Independent Practitioners Network (IPN) group. Renaissance supports the Independent Practitioners Network (IPN) as an appropriate route for on-going practitioner accountability. For therapists in-training at Renaissance, the dialectical approach to reflexive self-development is established from the very beginning.
